Each month our guild
members construct a new 'Block of the Month.'
Members completing a block place their name in a
container. The name drawn is the winner of all
of that month's blocks.
The morning
guild and the evening guild often have different
blocks of the month. Block of the month
coordinators:
morning group - Stella Burns, evening group -
Priscilla Muse
Below is
the current block of the month.
Some of these blocks are scanned and then reduced for
quick web-page
loading. They have been scanned and saved in a
gif or jpeg format. To be
able to print one full size, right click on the
picture and click copy.
Paste the picture into a word or
publisher document and
drag to full size.

T here are 3 fabrics in the block, a
small floral, a coordinating solid or
tone-on-tone (TOT) and a light cream background.
Cut
8 - 2 1/2" squares of the light cream
background, 4 -
2 1/2" squares of the small floral and 5 -
2 1/2"
squares of the solid or TOT. You will need
8 half-square triangles of the floral and cream
combination that are 2 1/2". I use this method:
cut
4 backgound squares measuring 2 7/8" and 4
floral squares measuring 2 7/8". Cut the squares
once diagonally and sew the resulting triangles
together.
You can use whatever method you like to
make these half square triangles as long as they
turn out 2 1/2".
Then assemble according to the
instructions.
