*New Business:

*In a previous email Pam suggested having a sew-in before the guild meeting each month. Several people had mentioned that they wanted to do something in the guild that would help them improve their quilting skills. Anyone interested should arrive at the meeting hall at 4:00 PM with their project, machine, and necessary items to work on whatever project they desire. Anyone who doesn't mind helping new sewers is welcomed to come join in the fun. This sounds like it would be a good time for finishing the BOM or the BOM for the drawing.

There will be a drawing at our June Guild meeting for a Prairie Paisley Stars quilt top kit. Each member will have her name entered one time into the drawing if yearly dues are paid (which are due next month).

Norma clued us in on the morning club suggestion to have a licensed quilting teacher at the next quilt show. There may be a problem since our quilt show is the same time as the Paducah Quilt Show.

The quilt guild By-Laws need to be updated. One such update should be made to include club minutes going out on the internet. If you know of any updates that need to be made please make the club aware at the next meeting.

The Abilene Quilt Show will be the first weekend in June.

*Granbury Retreat

*Angela McCorkle will teach Four Patch With a Twist at Quilt Inn in Granbury, July 18, 19, and 20th. The price is $180.00 and with a limit of 10 students.

*Block of the Month

*Starting next month the new BOM will be a scrappy full size quilt. It will include blocks that are inspired by the four seasons. The cost for the fabrics will be $10.00 per month. Additional fabric to finish the quilt top will be available for purchase. Please contact Angela McCorkle if you wish to participate. She needs to know as soon as possible.

*Sew 'n Tell:

*Mildred started show 'n tell with a California King Criss Cross quilt that she is working on. It has brown, yellow, orange, and cream blocks. Mildred stippled the background.

Pauline brought two quilt tops that were hand pieced by her mom-in-law about 20 years ago. She seeks advice on how to have them finished.

Jeanneene, Sally, Drenay, Ann, and Mary showed off their Square in a Square quilts from a class at Susie's.

Ann was inspired by a demo from the quilt show to make an adorable shirt with a pleated ruffle around the bottom.

Bobbie Lee shared a Handy Bag she made in one of Mary's classes.

Sally brought a Precious Moments quilt she made for her daughter which included hand and machine embroidery. She also had hand smocked a child's dress.

Connie donated her 3rd quilt for auction for the Priddy Fire Dept. The quilt made quite a haul at $375.00.

Mary made a Take Five quilt top for her granddaughter from bright fabrics. It's so loud we aren't sure if the child will be able to sleep under it! Mary also made a quilt top which she calls Turning 40. She doubled the Turning 20 pattern to make a queen size quilt top.

Mildred showed Mary how to complete her Hot Dog Pillowcase, or Magic Pillowcase, as it is known is some circles.

Priscilla presented the 'monthly drawing' block for June. It's called Hazy Daisy. She suggested using '30s fabrics.

The next meeting will be June 17th, at 6:00 PM. Those who wish to join the sew-in should arrive at 4:00. Don't forget to bring your neutral fat quarter for the drawing. And bring sew 'n tell. Stars Over Abilene Quilt Show is coming up in June. And don't forget your secret sister.

If you have a secret sister but haven't been able to reciprocate please let Mary or Pam know your intentions.

Meeting Adjourned.

I'd like to add that someone suggested that the drawing BOM be coordinated with the fat quarter color or type. As the new BOM Coordinator, I would be glad to suggest fabric selection if that's agreeable to everyone.

Respectfully submitted,
Millie Schwab
